Weeks 1-4 · back to ordinary

Meniscectomy patients are typically back to desk work within one to two weeks. The home-vs-supervised rehabilitation meta-analysis found no significant difference in return-to-work timing (about 4.5 days difference between groups). Driving is usually back by the end of week two if the operated knee can apply the brake. Pain is typically 1-2/10 through this window.

Repair patients are still in the protected phase. Vertical longitudinal repairs are full weight-bearing by week four per the pooled mean (3.9 weeks); complex, horizontal, radial, or root repairs hold partial weight-bearing through week six.
